Afternoon Tea Cosies

Contrary to popular belief, tea cosies and egg cosies are also decorated for afternoon tea functions. Noon timings usually call for warm color- patterned tea cosies. Afternoon tea cosies are used extensively in hot summer months and rainy days. Invited members or unexpected visitors are the usual guests of honor for an afternoon tea sip.

Afternoon tea party is often served during the summer months in the garden. Tea serving is left to elders. Eighteenth and nineteenth century noon tea parties not only were a mini social event and happy past time, but also a time to keep up to date with topical news and aristocracy gossip.
